Dispatch from London October 12, 2004 Last nite, the DVD Association launched the UK chapter in smashing form. The meeting was held in the lovely Charlotte St. Hotel screening room, and it was chock-a-block (jammed) I gave an overview of the mission, goals and activities of the DVD Association and then Jim Taylor (who flew over just for the event seen in these pix) gave a great presentation on the future of DVD, with explanations of all the variations of HD DVD. After the presentation, we spent a wonderful hour networking. All of the artists of DVD in London were there. It was an incredible meeting. The UK chapter is off to a rousing start. Thanks to Andy Evans of the Pavement for organizing, for Jim for making the long flight and to all my friends in the UK who see the importance in being part of the DVDA. As I said last nite, I have amended our mission statement as follows: The DVD Association is a Global Physical Community Dedicated to Fostering the Development and Application of DVD and Related Technologies. A small, but significant change. It has been an amazing European trip and the DVD Association is well established internationally, it was great to meet old and make new friends. I can’t wait to come back. Fly tomorrow… Cheers, Bernie
