Aleen Stein is a founding partner, current co-owner and former president of the Criterion Collection, which was the earliest and most extensive publisher of special home video editions of film on optical disc. She also is a founding partner and CEO of Organa, one of the pioneers in DVD (www.organawest.com and www.organa.com). She has been publishing, creating and selling interactive titles for more than 25 years, contributing to more than 300.  After seven years directing Voyager's (now Criterion) operations, PR, and marketing, in 1991 Ms. Stein initiated and led Voyager's international division, including acquisitions, product development, sales, marketing and operations.

She formerly served for six years as Director of International Licensing for Scholastic Inc.'s  consumer software division, and has a background in book publishing, film production and as an anthropologist.

The Criterion Collection (www.criterion.com), a continuing series of important classic and contemporary films, is dedicated to gathering the greatest films from around the world and publishing them in editions that offer the highest technical quality and award-winning, original supplements. Criterion began with a mission to pull the treasures of world cinema out of the film vaults and put them in the hands of collectors. All of the films published under the Criterion banner represent cinema at its finest. In our twenty+ years, we've seen a lot of things change, but one thing has remained constant: our commitment to publishing the defining moments of cinema in the world's best digital editions.
