ON PICTURES will distribute the title, first on its rental version.
This will allow any blind person to rent the DVD at any rental Shop. It will be on the shelves from April 26th.

For the first time ever, a Spanish-speaking blind or a visually impaired person will be able to rent a fully accessible DVD.

1) The Project:

ON PICTURES accepts Voilà DVD Art Studio’s proposal to launch a DVD fully accessible to the blind, with its own audionavigation system.
On Pictures steps forward and gives it the green light!
On Pictures is the first distributor in Spain who will give access to the blind and visually impaired of this country to one of its major titles.

VOILÀ DVD ART STUDIO has not only designed and created the authoring, but is as well the author of the audionavigation applied to Match Point,
fruit of the investigation and efforts produced by its Research and Developement department.
Both Audionavigation and Audiodescription have been created at their dubbing Studio in the utskirt of the city of Barcelona, Spain.

The project was presented to the ONCE (the Spanish equivalent of the British RNIB - Royal National Institute of the Blind)
which gave its full support and encouragement for more initiatives of this kind to come. 

AUDIONAVEGATION: 

is an audio asset that will help a blind or visually impaired person access all the contents of a DVD in a complete autonomous and independent way.

AUDIODESCRIPTION:
is an additional narration, located between dialogues, which describe the facial and body expressions, the scenes, the actions, and basically all the visual information that will help a blind or visually impaired person to follow a movie.

3) About Match Point

Match Point has earned more than € 7,500,000  in Spain, from 1,500,000 viewers. The movie has won the GOYA award (Spanish OSCAR for the best European movie), 4 nominations to the U.S. Golden Globes, including Best Movie, and has been nominated at the Oscar for Best Original Script.
